NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 20, 2009--
L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Global
Communications Solutions (GCS) division has been awarded a follow-on
contract by Eyak Technology for 970 combat service support Very Small
Aperture Terminals (VSATs). The value of the award is $42.5 million.
These VSAT systems support the communications requirements of U.S. Army
forces and other tactical and logistics units in-theater. Work will be
performed at L-3 GCS headquarters in Victor, N.Y., with all deliveries
scheduled to be completed by October 2010. When this order is fulfilled,
approximately 3350 systems will have been delivered to and fielded by
the Army.
